I Don't Paint the Sky. I Paint the Moment When Light Reaches the Earth.
People often tell me,
"You must love the night sky."
They're right—I do.
Whenever I look up at the stars or the moon, I feel a quiet sense of peace that words can hardly describe.
But the truth is, I don't paint the stars themselves.
What I truly want to capture is the moment when their light gently reaches the earth.
The shimmer of starlight reflected on a quiet harbor.
The warm glow of a street lamp dancing across rain-soaked cobblestones.
A moonlit field of flowers glowing softly in the silence of the night.
Or a small path illuminated just enough to guide someone home.
To me, light becomes meaningful the moment it touches the world around us.
That is why my paintings often feature water, flowers, old streets, and peaceful towns.
When light meets these places, they become more than beautiful landscapes.
They begin to tell quiet stories.
Stories of stillness.
Stories of hope.
Stories that gently remind us to pause.
Whenever I create a new piece, I find myself asking,
"How does the light fall here?"
I am not trying to paint brightness.
I want to paint warmth.
I am not simply creating fantasy.
I want to create a place where the heart can quietly rest.
If someone stands in front of one of my artworks and, even for a brief moment, breathes a little more slowly...
If the noise of everyday life fades away, replaced by the calm of a peaceful night...
Then I feel that the painting has fulfilled its purpose.
That is why I continue to paint—
not the sky itself,
but the quiet moment when its light gently reaches the earth.
