The work is available for purchase and will be shipped via a professional fine-art courier service. Created in 1985, Generation explores birth, reproduction, and ecstatic joy through an intensely physical process. Using oil pastels on wood, Kai built up approximately 60 layers, then carved back into the surface. As the pastel hardens with each layer, the technique demands speed, precision, and control. The resulting forms are not merely drawn but excavated, leaving direct traces of the generative act. The work reflects themes of creation and sexuality. In Tibetan Buddhism, ecstasy is regarded as a state approaching enlightenment; here, that idea is conveyed through tactile, bodily sensation rather than symbolism.
