■作品解説
2008年制作。M30号サイズのキャンバス3枚を横方向に連結し、全長188.5cmに及ぶ壮大なパノラマとして構成された大作です。
本作最大の特徴は、「ゴールドの人拓（大股）」という極めて象徴的かつ原初的な表現手法が用いられている点にあります。人拓とは、人体そのものを直接キャンバスに写し取る行為であり、本作ではその痕跡が黄金色で刻印されています。
肉体という“個”の存在を、金という永続性・神性を象徴する色彩で可視化することで、生命がやがて宇宙的秩序──すなわち曼荼羅へと回帰・溶解していく過程が示唆されています。
荒々しさと神聖さが同時に立ち上がる画面構成は、見る者に強い身体感覚と精神性の両方を呼び覚まします。
甲斐哲義の表現史においても、身体表現と曼荼羅思想が最も直接的に交差した、唯一無二の存在感を放つ一作です。
■作家略歴：身体から宇宙へ
1964年、世界初のボディペインティングを発表し、米「LIFE」誌で特集されるなど、戦後日本前衛美術を象徴する存在として世界的な注目を集める。
銀座での逮捕騒動、ブラジル・サンパウロ大学近代美術館への作品収蔵など、サイケデリック・アートの最前線を駆け抜けた後、その表現は次第に精神性を深め、「曼荼羅」「宇宙論」へと昇華していく。
2011年には、中国・密教総本山「大興善寺」へ3m四方の大作を奉納。その制作過程と思想はNHKでも紹介され、芸術と祈りを結ぶ表現として高く評価されている。

Created in 2008, this monumental panoramic work consists of three interconnected M30 canvases spanning 188.5 cm in width.
The most striking feature is the use of Gold Body Printing (Jintaku)—a direct imprint of the human body rendered in gold.
By pressing the physical trace of the body onto the canvas, the artist visualizes the transformation of individual生命 into a universal order, symbolized by the Mandala.
The work powerfully unites raw human vitality with cosmic harmony, creating an overwhelming presence that transcends scale and medium.
About the Artist: Tetsuyoshi Kai
A legendary figure of the Japanese avant-garde, Kai pioneered Body Painting in 1964 and was featured in LIFE magazine (USA).
After decades of radical expression, his work evolved into spiritual Mandala compositions. In 2011, he dedicated a monumental work to Daxingshan Temple in Xi’an, China.
