Thank you for visiting my shop.
This unique planter is inspired by the "Hagama" (an ancient earthenware rice pot with a wide rim) and "Hajiki" (pottery) from the Kofun period. Its defining and most captivating feature is the organic coloration, natural scorch marks, and fiery gradients born purely from the traditional open-firing technique.
Unglazed clay pots provide exceptional breathability and drainage, creating the ultimate environment for plants that thrive in dry conditions. The wild, primitive design pairs beautifully with succulents, including cacti, agaves, and caudex plants. Since the front and back of the pot show entirely different expressions and markings, you can choose which side to display based on your plant's personality.
The size of this pot corresponds to a standard Japanese No. 4 size pot (approx. 12 cm in diameter).
During the firing process using charcoal or firewood, the piece may develop natural color variations, ash deposits, or scorch marks. Please appreciate these unique characteristics as part of the piece's individual personality and artistic character.
Approximate Size:
Outer Diameter (Rim): 12.0 cm (approx. 4.7 inches)
Max Width (Including Rim/Flange): 13.4 cm (approx. 5.3 inches)
Height: 8.0 cm (approx. 3.1 inches)
