釉薬（うわぐすり）を使用せず、焼貫の技法にて部分的に灰の溶けた自然釉が掛かっています。

This is a "Koma-sukashi" (spinning top motif with openwork) lid rest. In the Japanese tea ceremony, a lid rest ("Futaoki") is a traditional utensil used to hold the lid of a tea kettle, iron kettle, or clay teapot.
Crafted without any artificial glaze, this piece was fired using the rigorous "Yakinuki" (intense raw-firing) technique. This process allows natural wood ash to settle and melt into a glassy, natural ash glaze over parts of the surface, creating a powerful and organic expression. It is also beautifully suited to be displayed as a decorative ornament.
