Thank you for visiting my shop.
This unglazed "Yakishime" matcha tea bowl is crafted without a single drop of artificial glaze, fired slowly and intensely inside a traditional wood-fired kiln.
For four days and four nights, the kiln was continuously stoked by hand with firewood at temperatures reaching 1,200°C (approx. 2,192°F). Its charm lies in the one-of-a-kind expressions created purely by the forces of nature—such as the dramatic flashing marks left by rushing flames and the "natural ash glaze" formed where accumulated wood ash melted into a beautiful, glassy surface.
The surface of "Yakishime" ware features microscopic textures. As you use the bowl over time, the natural oils from your hands and the elements of the tea will gently seep into the clay, transforming it into a moist, deep, and lustrous patina. One of the greatest joys unique to "Yakishime" is the process of "nurturing" the bowl with your own hands, watching its character and depth grow richer day by day.
Approximate Size:
Outer Diameter: 10.6 cm (approx. 4.2 inches)
Height: 7.4 cm (approx. 2.9 inches)

Care Instructions & Notes
・Due to its unglazed nature, Yakishime ware tends to absorb tea easily when you first start using it. Briefly rinsing or dipping the bowl in clean water right before each use will help prevent sudden or uneven tea staining.
・After use, wash gently by hand and ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mold growth.
・Please do not use in microwave ovens, dishwashers, or traditional ovens.
・Depending on your monitor or screen settings, the colors of the product may appear slightly different from the actual item.
