When the Whale Falls, Life Rises

Where did this whale come from? People only know that it swam through a silent blue, with a golden cross suspended above it—a kiss offered to the sea. Some say the whale once sheltered a man in its belly for three days and three nights, and that prayers continued even in the darkness. Others say that when it sinks to the ocean floor, it gives its body to the sea, allowing life to grow from death. Ottoline simply smiled. “The deeper it dives, the brighter the light becomes.” This artwork features pearlescent pigments. Photographs may not fully capture its true shimmer and colors.
