Thank you for visiting my shop. Please note: The LED candle shown in the images is for demonstration purposes only and is NOT included with this product. This is a "Sueki"-style (ancient Japanese gray stoneware style) "Toro" (Lantern) tripod lid rest. In the Japanese tea ceremony, a lid rest ("Futaoki") is a traditional utensil used to hold the lid of a tea kettle, iron kettle, or clay teapot, as well as the bamboo ladle. This piece can also be enjoyed by placing a flickering LED candle inside to let the light shine through (DAISO's LED candle is used in the photos). It is also beautifully suited to be displayed as a decorative ornament or figurine. For a traditional and formal display of a tripod (Mitsuashi) utensil, it is customary to place it with the single leg facing forward (toward you) and the two legs at the back. During the firing process using charcoal or firewood, the piece may develop natural color variations, ash deposits, or scorch marks. Please appreciate these unique characteristics as part of the piece's individual personality and artistic landscape. Approximate Size: Full Size (As an Ornament): Outer Diameter: 6.9 cm (approx. 2.7 inches) Height: 7.9 cm (approx. 3.1 inches) When Used as a Lid Rest ("Futaoki"): Outer Diameter: 5.3 cm (approx. 2.1 inches) Height: 5.7 cm (approx. 2.2 inches)
