This is a wood carved bird (Rostratula benghalensis).
The material is cypress and the coloring is acrylic paint.
It is approximately 10 cm tall, 6 cm wide, and 6 cm deep.
Being different attracts attention and is often ridiculed or denied. But we cannot do what we cannot do, and we must overcome difficulties by doing what we can do, even if it is in a different way than others.
The female of Rostratula benghalensis has more conspicuous plumage than the male, and the female courts the male and protects the territory, while the male raises the young.
Such birds account for less than 1% of all birds.
I can't help but wonder how something different came to be, but at any rate, it must be that someone started something different and had a group of friends who shared in that change.
In Japan, birds that gather at the water's edge are called chidori, or "plover," and have long been popular in kimono patterns and the like as something that overcomes rough seas together and achieves its goal.
Oxalis corniculata f. rubrifolia means "I live with you" in Japan.
