【YOKOYAMA ART WORKSについて】
YOKOYAMA ART WORKSは、山形県庄内に工房を構え、天然木の表情を生かした一点物を制作しています。
素材選びから仕上げまで、木の状態に合わせて調整し、自然素材の美しさを日常で長く使える作品へと仕立てています。
栃（とち）と楓瘤（かえでこぶ）を中心に、透明感のある色彩と艶を組み合わせた筆記具を制作しています。木目や色合い、光を受けたときの表情はすべて異なります。その個性を見極め、素材に合う色と仕上げを選んでいます。
【主な仕上げ】
「シースルーグラデーション」は、木目が透けるように色を重ねる技法です。見る角度や光によって、色の濃淡と木目の表情が変化します。
「CAフィニッシュ」は、木の表面に透明な樹脂層を薄く重ね、研磨と艶出しを行う仕上げです。木目の立体感と滑らかな艶を引き出し、皮脂や摩耗による影響を抑えます。
【使用している木材】
栃は明るく上品な色合いが特徴で、光を受けると波のような模様が現れる材もあります。
楓瘤は複雑な模様を持ち、作品ごとに木目や色味が異なります。これらは欠点ではなく、天然木ならではの個性です。
漆、スタビライズドウッド、撥水セラミック仕上げなども研究し、完成度を高めた技法は限定作品として展開してまいります。

【About YOKOYAMA ART WORKS】
Based in Shonai, Yamagata, Japan, YOKOYAMA ART WORKS creates one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase the natural beauty of wood.
From material selection to finishing, every step is adjusted to suit the wood. We mainly create writing instruments from Japanese horse chestnut (tochi) and maple burl.
No two pieces share the same grain, color, or appearance in the light. We choose the color and finish that best suit each piece.
【Main Finishes】
Our Translucent Gradient adds color while keeping the grain visible. Its appearance changes with the angle and light.
Our CA Finish uses thin layers of clear resin, followed by sanding and polishing. It enhances the grain, creates a smooth gloss, and helps protect against skin oils and everyday wear.
【Materials】
Japanese horse chestnut has a light, refined color and may display delicate wave-like figuring.
Maple burl features intricate, irregular patterns. Variations in grain and color are not flaws, but natural characteristics.
We also study urushi lacquer, stabilized wood, and water-repellent ceramic finishes for limited editions.
